One of my weight loss goals is to lose 60 lbs. by next March. 8 months, 50 lbs…Yes, I will succeed! The reason for this particular date is because I am once again a bridesmaid! This whole *bridesmaid gig* started 8 years and since that time I have been in 6 weddings and the one in March will make 7.
I am tired of being of a bridesmaid!
I’m sure you’re thinking that I am a horrible, bitchy, person which is only the truth about 10% of the time…thankyouverymuch! But the other 90% of the time that’s far from the truth. I adore my friends and am loyal to a fault. For example, I will spend my rent money on things such as hosting wedding showers, bridesmaid dresses- you get the point. Don’t get me wrong, i’m honored to have lots of wonderful friends many of which I have known since I was in diapers and some of who I met in Austin that I would not trade for anything. I just wish they would all get married already so we can get on with our lives
!!!!
(Sorry this post is rambling so bear with me)
Back to be being a March bridesmaid. Everything was moving along swimmingly, no Bridezilla problems (yet-it’s still early), etc… until last week when one of the other bridesmaids announces that she is pregnant. Guess what this means? We have to pick another dress because the one the bride originally selected won’t work for a girl that’s going to be 8 months pregnant walking down the isle. And so the saga begins… to make a really long and frustrating story short, 30 emails, 15 dresses and several glasses of wine later…tada, here you have dress #7.

Speaking of dresses, I have worn them all in every color and style you can imagine! Seriously we’re talking all the way from lavender satin to pepto bismol pink chiffon and just about everything in between. In fact, I recently sold them all in a garage sale for $2 each- good riddance! I will give major props to Yasmine for letting us pick our own dresses (NOTE: If you’re reading this and you’re getting married, you’re bridesmaids will LOVE you forever if you let them pick their own dress!). We all have to remember that everybody is special and we all come in different shapes and sizes…that means that these DD’s don’t like strapless! Enough said! If I hear one more bride say “I like this dress because you will be able to wear it again” I will not be responsible for my actions!
P.s. In other diet related news I have been hungry all day and I gained 1 lb. from yesterday to today. I have no idea why and it’s depressing…
